Decadent Drinks is an independent bottler of whisky and other spirits. Angus MacRaild - also author of the WhiskySponge blog - is its founder. His philosophy is quality, fun and not taking life too seriously. This quirky side is reflected both in his blog and on the labels of his bottlings, with the sponge character depicted in a wide variety of ways.
These bottlings, mostly single casks, are divided into different brands such as the Spongeverse, Equinox & Solstice, Equilibrium and NAS. The Spongeverse includes WhiskySponge, RumSponge, CognacSponge, ArmagnacSponge and WineSponge.
Nose : Rich and complex. An explosion of tropical fruit, dominated by aromas of juicy peaches and ripe apricots. In the background, cereal notes mingle with hints of freshly roasted nuts and a delicate touch of golden honey. The bouquet is rounded off by a subtle floral nuance and sweet spices that add an extra dimension.
Palate : Smooth and balanced, it reveals flavors of fresh fruit, toasted hazelnuts and juicy plums. Subtle bitterness and notes of sweet barley enrich the velvety texture, offering a fruity sweetness accompanied by delicate spices.
Overall : Long and harmonious, it blooms with notes of dried fruit and sweet spices. A light touch of wood adds depth, while the fruity sweetness lingers, leaving a sensation of freshness and complexity.
