This bottling is a single cask of George Dickel's unclaimed Bourbon Tennessee Sour Mash, distilled in 2016. This 8-year-old Bourbon spent 3 years maturing in Tennessee, then 5 years in Scotland. It was aged entirely in a new American oak cask and was made from a blend of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley.
The alcohol content has been reduced to 57.1%, offering a rich, comforting balance of strong spices, waxed wood notes and hints of citrus.
Decadent Drinks is an independent bottler of whisky and other spirits. Angus MacRaild - also author of the WhiskySponge blog - is the founder. Its philosophy is quality, fun and not taking life too seriously. This quirky side is reflected both in his blog and on the labels of his bottlings, which feature the sponge character in a wide variety of ways.
These bottlings, mostly single casks, are divided into different brands such as the Spongeverse, Equinox & Solstice, Equilibrium and NAS. The Spongeverse includes WhiskySponge, RumSponge, CognacSponge, ArmagnacSponge and WineSponge.

Nose : Very juicy, warming and spicy. Bags of liquorice, blood orange, cloves and varnish! Classical sour mash Bourbon profile with excellent richness and maturity.

Palate : Thick, creamy vanillin, wood spices, cocktail bitters and aniseed. Sweet black liquorice, tar extracts, herbal extracts and pine wood notes. More lovely deeply spiced marmalade vibes! Pure Old Fashioned juice!

Overall : Long, resinous crystalised orange peel, oak spices, clove, liquorice, aniseed and mentholated and medicinal vibes.
