Like the 47% version, this Papalin Overproof is a blend of Jamaican rums, composed of Worthy Park WPL with an ester content ranging from 60 to 120 gr/HLPA at distillation, a Long Pond STCE with an ester rate of 550-700 gr/HLPA after distillation, and a Hampden C<>H with an ester rate of 1,300-1,400 gr/HLPA coming off the still . Ethereal and yet deeply rooted in its native land, this bottling is filled with medicinal, mineral and empyreumatic sequences that brilliantly stamp the Jamaica hallmark on its palette of flavours and aromas.

Nose : Rich, powerful. The nose is medicinal (elastoplast, arnica), spicy (clove), mineral (rubber) and empyreumatic (fuel oil) and immediately unveils its strong personality. Allowed to breathe, a handful of fruits (pineapple, pear, plum), honey fragrances (acacia) and gentle spices (ginger) round out the aroma palette.

Appearance : Jaune doré.

Palate : Lively yet firm. The flavour palette also reveals medicinal notes (ointment) and camphor, and intensifies this Papalin’s spicy side. Clove, nutmeg and star anise take centre-stage. It then becomes richer with notes of anis.

Overall : Long, full. Mature (roasted pineapple) and yet equipped with a herbaceous freshness, the tasting now focuses on the chocolatey and grainy mouthfeel (rice). Vanilla coats the sides of the palette, bringing lots of consistency.
