Calvados Pays d'Auge 2004, from double distillation in copper pot stills. Aged in old calvados barrels and old Foursquare rum barrels.
The nose opens with notes of ripe apples and honey, before evolving into scents of cinnamon, brown sugar and toasted wood in a deliciously pastry-like universe enriched by notes of brioche and baba. On the palate, the attack is straightforward, with a fine structure supported by toasted wood. Very rich, the palate also offers a pastry-like balance of sweet baked apple, spice and dried fruit (almonds, raisins). A note of candied orange completes the gourmet aromatic palette of this calvados. The smooth finish evokes apple pie, strudel and brown sugar, reminiscent of the finesse of Foursquare rums.
