Heavily Peated
Nose : Rich, full-bodied. Initially, aromas of oily peat and smoked bacon mingle with scents of candied fruits (pear, mirabelle plum). As it aerates, the aromatic profile becomes more heady (orris concrete, violet). Pleasantly saline, it then moves towards noble spicy notes (cardamom, clove).
Appearance : Or vif.
Palate : Lively, dynamic. Following on from the nose, the flavor profile gradually reveals a peat with more herbal (alfalfa, verbena) and camphorated accents. Then, evoking a malting floor, it becomes increasingly chocolatey. Wildflowers also highlight its rustic character.
Overall : Long, indulgent. Creamily vanilla, the tasting continues with more empyreumatic flavors of still-warm ashes. This warm sequence is gradually refreshed by aniseed and mentholated notes. Dual in nature, the aftertaste is split between the candied fruits from the nose and the herbaceous peat from the palate.
