True to Westland's ambition to source the majority of the products used to make its whiskies locally, Solum experiments with the essence of time through the terroir of the American Pacific coast.
100% local peat. Harvested from a peat bog on Washington's Olympic Peninsula, the peat used for Solum is unlike anything else found for smoking malt. It reveals an eternity of flavors, all of which come from the layers of flora in the region where Douglas fir, Labrador tea and other herbs and citrus have long flourished. The result is a peat with flavors and aromas that are distinctly different from those of other regions.
