MACDUFF 14 ans 2009 Refill Bourbon Barrel Gordon & Macphail

Built in 1962 by William Lawson Distillers Ltd (John Dewars & Sons), Macduff was one of the very few Scottish distilleries founded in the 1920s. From the outset, all of its malt was absorbed by William Lawson whisky, a famous brand of blends in France in the 1980s.

This Macduff, distilled in 2009, was aged for 9 years in a bourbon barrel refill before being bottled at its natural proof of 58.10%. This Highland single malt has a fruity, gourmet profile, with aromas of vanilla, lemon and apricot.

Created in 1968 by the great whisky visionary, ‘Mr George’ Urquhart, the ‘Connoisseurs Choice’ range now includes over 2,000 bottlings from around a hundred Scottish distilleries. The story of each Connoisseurs Choice whisky is told on the label, including cask type, bottling date, degree, vintage and tasting notes. Always non-chill filtered, these rare single casks and small batch expressions have been created using Gordon & MacPhail's unique expertise in marrying distillate and oak casks, passed down through four generations of the same family.
