1984 is a Sour Saison, a surprisingly tart variation on the Belgian Saison style of beer, characterised by its rustic, thirst-quenching character. This fusion of styles, which is almost a foretaste, is well worth the diversions! The spicy, lemony flavours typical of Saison yeast are combined with the light acidity typical of Sour beers (lactic fermentation) and the floral, fruity notes of dry-hopped hops. 1984 is a refreshing, slightly bitter, slightly acidic beer, as creative and unconventional as its creators.
