The first instalment in Billy Walker's 50th anniversary series, The GlenAllachie Past Edition, is unveiled in the form of a 16-year-old single malt matured entirely in Sherry. This bottling represents Billy Walker's past, when he made a name for himself by launching acclaimed strong Sherry expressions, with many Scotch fans believing he was instrumental in the development of this style category.
Combining nine Spanish sherry casks from the 2005 vintage, personally selected by Billy Walker, the resulting liquid exudes opulence and indulgence with seductive layers of dark chocolate and glazed fig, as well as a character of banana bread and espresso coffee.
Billed as the archetypal Billy Walker style", this sentimental edition limited to just 4,000 bottles is proudly presented at 57.1% ABV, natural in colour and non-chill filtered."
