GLEN ELGIN 2013 Small Batch Berry Bros. & Rudd

From the north of Scotland to the south coast of England, Spring Release 2023 from independent bottler Berry Bros. & Rudd showcases the richness and breadth of distilling talent to be found on British shores.

The nose opens with Glen Elgin's characteristic burnt marmalade notes, as well as apples and pears. A little time in the glass brings out notes of crème brûlée. The palate is powerful, reminiscent of Glen Elgin's traditional worm tubs, while a perfect balance of fruit and oak waltzes across the tongue. With a liquid of character like this, it's hard to understand why Glen Elgin isn't one of the biggest names in Scotch whisky.
