This Caol Ila, distilled in 2007, was aged for 16 years in first-fill oloroso sherry casks before being bottled at 58.50 %. It reveals a rich, smoky profile, with aromas of peat, dried fruit and chocolate.

Clearly expressing smoked malted barley, Caol Ila is also coastal, vegetal, oily and peaty. The Caol Ila distillery's large, onion-shaped stills largely explain the rather light, very refined character of this single malt.
