Burnside blended malt, made by William Grant & Sons, is now known as ‘Sideburn’ at Decadent Drinks. This is a small-batch, multi-vintage 30-year-old single malt, from a 1992 second-fill cask and a 1993 first-fill cask, bottled at cask strength. It's a stunning, perfectly ripe honey and fruit bomb, tasting exactly what you'd expect from a top-class 30-year-old Speyside malt whisky.

Decadent Drinks is an independent bottler of whisky and other spirits. Angus MacRaild - also author of the WhiskySponge blog - is the founder. Its philosophy is quality, fun and not taking life too seriously. This quirky side is reflected both in his blog and on the labels of his bottlings, which feature the sponge character in a variety of situations. These bottlings, mostly single casks, are divided into different brands such as the Spongeverse, Equinox & Solstice and Equilibrium. The Spongeverse includes WhiskySponge, RumSponge, CognacSponge, ArmagnacSponge and WineSponge.

Nose : Profondément pulpeux et plein de couches de miel, de fruits verts et jaunes mûrs, de céréales riches et sucrées et de malt. On trouve également des notes de crème pâtissière, de vins de dessert, d'agrumes et de cire. Tout simplement irrésistible !

Palate : Une fois de plus, le mot « succulent » s'impose. Criblé de miels, de vins doux, de cires, de pollens, de cire d'abeille, de fruits exotiques séchés, de marmelades d'agrumes. La liste est longue... un pur plaisir !

Overall : Longue et toujours dominée par les miels et les fruits - tout ce que l'on attend d'un whisky du Speyside de 30 ans d'âge.
