BUNNAHABHAIN STAOISHA 7 ans 2014 Signatory Vintage

One can't help but wonder if sometimes, in addition to its almost unpronounceable name, Bunnahabhain isn't trying to actively befuddle us. The whisky is usually not peaty when only the distillery name appears on the label, but its Mòine and Staoisha versions, as worthy representatives of the Islay style, have an intensely smoky flavour profile. Mòine simply means "peat" in Gaelic, while Staoisha is the name of a lake located a few miles from the distillery, in the heart of the island's peat bogs. Distilled in 2014, this Bunnahabhain Staoisha has no reason to be ashamed of its five years of age — anyone would swear it was older. Its character is all but lost: the maturation in sherry casks perfectly complements its camphorated, marine and fruity flavour profile. Slàinte mhath! _x000D_
