The wood smoke wafting from this whisky can only herald the arrival of Ardmore, one of the Highlands' most distinctive brandies. Ash, hessian, kippers and cookies mingle with great balance, and a hint of tobacco and fruitcake appears after some time in the glass. The palate is extremely smoky, yet very subtle, with notes of cedar, smoked straw, pipe tobacco and lime zest. The smoke from the wood fires lingers on the palate for a long time.
