HIGHLAND PARK 17 ans 2006 Refill Sherry Puncheon Connoisseurs Choice Gordon & Macphail

This Highland Park, distilled in 2006, was aged for 17 years in a sherry puncheon before being bottled at 60.3%. This Orkney single malt has a powerful, grassy profile, with aromas of vanilla, cinnamon and citrus fruit.

Highland Park draws its uniqueness from two essential elements in whisky production: the people and the peat. The latter, used for malting barley on site, comes directly from the estate, almost exclusively from callune heather and its roots. As for the men of Highland Park, they are so proud of their origins that a century ago they were the last to use endemic Scottish barley to make whisky.

Created in 1968 by the great whisky visionary, ‘Mr George’ Urquhart, the Connoisseurs Choice range now includes more than 2,000 bottlings from over a hundred Scottish distilleries. The story of each Connoisseurs Choice whisky is told on the label, including cask type, bottling date, degree, vintage and tasting notes. Always non-chill filtered, these rare single casks and small batch expressions have been created using Gordon & MacPhail's unique expertise in marrying distillate and oak casks, passed down through four generations of the same family.
