Founded in 1825, Ben Nevis is one of the few distilleries in Scotland to be two hundred years old. It is located on the mainland west coast of Scotland, in the shadow of the highest mountain in Britain, from which it takes its name.
Signatory Vintage unveils a new series, ‘Symington's Choice’, showcasing the most exceptional casks from Pitlochry's cellars. This series is an opportunity for Andrew Symintgons to reaffirm the mastery of selection, maturation and richness of Pitlochry casks.
Nose : A bewitching profile, blending notes of Meursault, mirabelle plum brandy and apricot liqueur, both fruity and refined. With a little water, hints of old apple add further complexity.
Palate : Ben Nevis' characteristic leather, soot and pepper harmonise with flavours of chardonnay, apricot, apple and mirabelle plum, offering a rich and complete experience. With water: the flavours evolve, the apple takes over with an almost rustic intensity reminiscent of an authentic Calvados, and even a hint of artisanal kirsch.
Overall : Persistent, a little wild, with earthy, peppery and slightly spicy notes.
