Aged for a decade in a dirt-floored warehouse near the Atlantic coast, this whisky seemed predestined to become a House classic, but when Dr. Bill Lumsden, the whisky's creative director, tasted cask no. 7195, he was surprised by its exceptionally fruity character. In addition to the usual aromas of pine, sea spray, licorice and smoke, this whisky reveals exotic touches of banana, lime and cooked pineapple, fully embodying Ardbeg's unprecedented tropical facet.
