WHISKY MAGAZINE & FINE SPIRITS - N°47
Summer 2012 Organic farming (the famous AB), sustainable development, fair trade or carbon footprinting: many concepts have invaded our daily lives. The spirits industry has not waited for the general public to take hold of the phenomenon before taking action. And yet, producing and selling spirits responsibly is a constant challenge. While there are no major concerns about the raw materials, it's a tricky business when it comes to fermentation, distillation and ageing in wood. Fortunately, organic certification allows some of the process to be done outside the box. So, are there any organic or responsibly produced spirits? And if so, do they taste better? Whisky Magazine & Fine Spirits takes part in the debate.
The other news in this summer's issue is the release of Ken Loach's new film, Angels' Share, which won the Jury Prize at Cannes. It's brilliant. Needless to say, before heading off into the sunshine, a trip to the cinema is a must! Have a great holiday!
