SULLIVANS COVE Double Cask

Nose : Panforte and boysenberry icecream. Need I say more? Oh alright then. Soft and warm into the nostrils (warm as in good, not hot), broad and round. Monte Carlos fresh from the oven, buttery pastry and shortbread. Date molasses. Some sort of mental milkshake with chocolate, banana and caramel flavouring in it. Bush honey, fresh coconuts. Waxy. Paw paw, dried mango and passionfruit can't go unnoticed. Dusty chocolate malt (like Ovalteenies). Comme des Garçons Black Pepper and fresh broad beans.

Palate : Plum blossoms, golden raisins, orange peel, baked apples. Custard apple and canteloupe. Beautiful texture, becomes quite thick. Those apricot and coconut squares from health food shops. Very dark toffee flavour. Shortbread and a hint of rye bread. Peas covered in loads of butter. Fine tannins.

Overall : 'Grapefruit rind for life. Sweet and broad, fills the palate. Confection note, cola, white chocolate, and coconut blossom sugar. Quite herbal- bay leaf. Walnutty. Tropical notes are still here, ripe mango especially. Stewed pears and mulled cherries. Vanilla sponge. The texture is really lengthy, coats the whole palate beautifully.
