The history of the Rosebank distillery is directly linked to the Forth & Clyde Canal which lies at its feet. This waterway linked the west and east coasts of Scotland, as well as its two main cities, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
A distillery called Rosebank was in operation as early as 1817.
From 1840, under the management of the Rankine family, Rosebank flourished. However, the canal became neglected and the distillery finally closed in 1993. It reopened under new management in 2024, with a grand fanfare.
This edition, a forgotten work of art, is one of the oldest and rarest Rosebank single malts ever released.
Distilled in 1991, this whisky aged 32 years in first-fill bourbon casks and was bottled at 51.50%.

Recollection #3 retraces the history of Scotland's closed distilleries through a selection of meticulously chosen bottlings. Kept in the cellars of Gordon & MacPhail, they reflect an era and a chapter in the great epic of Scottish Whisky.
