RABBIT HOLE Boxergrail Rye

The name Boxergrail is a tribute to Muhammad Ali who got his start in the boxing business in Louisville, Kentucky, the city where he was born and raised.Unlike our other whiskeys, Boxergrail's mash contains only two grains: rye and malted barley. Rye makes up 95% of the mash, while malted barley serves as the "flavoring grain," providing a velvety mouthfeel with subtle notes of caramel and spice.We age Boxergrail in hand-selected American white oak barrels at the Kelvin Cooperage. The barrels are slowly toasted over a wood fire before being charred. This charring process extracts the sugars from the wood fibers, which mix with the distillate during aging, giving our whiskeys unmatched complexity and flavor. In addition, to ensure that the care taken in the whiskey making process is reflected in the finished product, we forego cold filtering. When tasted, citrus and black tea flavors stand out, giving Boxergrail a balance of sweetness and spice. 95% rye, 5% malted barley
