NUSBAUMER Mirabelle

This small, sweet, fragrant yellow plum produces one of the finest and most appreciated brandies. Mirabelle plums come only from Lorraine orchards, which have been granted PDO status. Yellow speckled with red, with a honey-like flavor, sweet and fragrant, the fruit produces a refined eau-de-vie that is supple, sweet, fruity and clean, with a powerful bouquet of fruit. It takes around 9 kg to 10 kg of fruit to obtain one liter of eau-de-vie at 50°. Aging takes from 12 to 24 months in stainless steel vats to give it suppleness and roundness. Mirabelle plum brandy is best enjoyed neat. It also lends character to cocktails and finesse to long drinks.
