Built in 1820 and demolished in 1994, the North Port distillery in Brechin remains little-known because its malt was mainly used in blends. Fortunately, Signatory Vintage is here to remind us of this vanished distillery through this venerable version. Distilled in 1976, this Highland single malt is aged in hogshead bourbon casks and has a complex, fruity profile. Single malts and single grains bottled as brut de fût, the Rare Reserve range is similar in every way to the Cask Strength Collection, except that it brings together only bottlings that are exceptional in terms of age and rarity. Each cuvée is bottled without reduction, without chill filtering and, in most cases, from a single cask. To help consumers appreciate their whisky beyond the purely aromatic and gustatory level, Signatory Vintage endeavours to display very precisely on each label the region of production, the date of distillation and bottling, the type of cask used, its number and the number of bottles produced.
