After 45 years of silence, a masterpiece was born from this haven of peace: Midleton Very Rare Silent Distillery Collection. This collection pays homage to the very last drops of whiskey - inimitable whiskey - that left the distillery before it fell silent forever. A "silent" distillery is one that has closed its doors, so these precious bottlings have become highly sought-after by whisk(e)y enthusiasts.
A traditional distillery, Old Midleton Distillery was famous the world over for its Irish whiskey. When it closed its doors in 1975, it became an iconic part of Irish distilling legend.
As unique and special as the whiskey itself, the decanter has been specially designed to house this exceptional liquid by the craftsmen of Ireland's famous House of Waterford. Each decanter is blown, then once shaped, the flowing lines of the glass are refined by hand engraving and polishing. Each bottle is therefore unique!
