KAVALAN Vinho Barrique

Nose : lively, clean. The initial nose is particularly vinous (ripe grapes) and spicy (cinnamon, clove). After this initial energetic approach, the nose is softened by notes of heather honey and bourbon-vanilla. Once aerated, its exotic natures has measured up the aromatic palette. Mango, passion fruit and guavas release their delicious perfumes.

Palate : rich, complex. With impeccable precision, the attack draws out the exoticism of the nose, adding floral notes (wilted rose, peony) to the combination. The mid-palate returns to the territory of spice (grated ginger, black pepper). Full of energy, it reveals itself to be particularly long, energised by the acidity of the lime and grapefruit that arrive in its grand finale.

Overall : long, mineral. The finish draws on notes of slate and pencil lead to enrich the fruity register of dark fruit (blackberry, blackcurrants) and dried fruit (walnut, almond). It lingers with noble wood and vanilla. The retro-nasal olfaction is sparkling and herby (lime blossom, vervain) and the empty glass returns to the vinous, spicy character of the initial nose.
