It has long been believed that when an Islay single malt has no name, it is always Caol Ila. Indeed, Caol Ila is the largest distillery on the island and its production is almost twice as large as the next largest, Laphroaig. However, with now four unnamed Islay editions, several of them are obvious to guess from the clues on the label... A 13 year old single malt from an undisclosed Islay distillery, with a fair proportion of Oloroso cask aging, 255 bottles bottled.
That Boutique-Y Whisky Company is recognisable by its cartoon-style labels, full of detail and allusion. While the design may seem whimsical, the selection is meticulous and often very surprising.
