HAKUSHU 12 ans 100th Anniversary Edition

The limited edition Hakushu 12 Year Old from the House of Suntory is a blend of meticulously selected malt whiskies, all aged for a minimum of 12 years, specifically crafted for the House's centenary celebration. Nestling in the heart of Mount Kaikomagatake, the Hakushu distillery was founded in 1973 by Keizo Saji, a second-generation Master Blender. He took on the challenge of working with peat - a bold move made possible by the region's unique terroir, climate and exceptional mountain water (filtered through granite rocks), which together soften the characteristic smoky taste.
The packaging of the century-old Hakushu 12 Year Old bottle is designed as a tribute to the concept of 'Monozukuri', a Japanese principle that embodies high-level craftsmanship quality, ingenuity and its expressive character. The illustration on the bottle depicts the Hakushu distillery in soft shades of wild green, reflecting the forest that surrounds the distillery. It illustrates Shinjiro Torii's ambition to produce a whisky inspired by the riches of nature and Japanese craftsmanship, an aspiration that continues to this day.
