GLENLOCHY 44 ans 1979 REFILL AMERICAN HOGSHEAD Recollection Gordon & Macphail

Founded in 1898 on the banks of the River Nevis, shortly after the completion of the Western Highlands Railway, Glenlochy was ideally placed to transport its whisky to Glasgow. Most of the production from its stills was destined for blending, making any version bearing the distillery's name extremely rare.
Glenlochy finally closed in 1983 and was sold in 1991 to be converted into a hotel. All the original buildings have since been demolished, with the exception of the kiln building, but the spirit of the distillery lives on in this single malt.
Distilled in 1979, this whisky was aged for 44 years in American Hogshead refill and bottled at 53.20%.
