EDRADOUR BALLECHIN Double Malt - Double Cask

Nose : both powerful and fleshy. The smoke and peat initially meet notes of damp earth, dark chocolate, heady flowers (peony, broom) and grey tobacco. Notes of ashes and vanilla come together harmoniously on aeration. In time, increasingly powdery (rice), minty and spicy (saffron, badian)._x000D_<br>_x000D_<br>_x000D_<br>_x000D_<br>_x000D_

Palate : dense, rich. Forming a very compelling duo, the smoke and peat initially cover the range of tastes as well as the palate until tangy fruits fill the mid palate. Green walnuts, mint, citrus fruits ( orange, mandarin) and dark chocolate provide freshness and silkiness in the late palate. _x000D_

Overall : long, gourmand. The sherry and peat rivalise in intensity and presence. The sherry shines with its chocolate, praline and tannic notes, the peat by its earthy nature salty and slightly stringent notes. Retro-olfaction is generous and floral (hyacinth, carnation). The empty glass as creamy, peaty and blossomy (cigar)._x000D_
