The Dailuaine distillery, located in the Speyside region of Scotland, is renowned for the richness and complexity of its whiskies. Founded in 1852, it produces mainly powerful, fruity single malts, often used in premium blends. Although less well known than some of its neighboring distilleries, Dailuaine enjoys a solid reputation for its elegant, deep spirits. The distillery uses traditional methods and flake stills, contributing to the unique signature of its malts.
Nose : Aromas of stewed fruit, notes of wax, sweet spices and a touch of sherry. There are also hints of dates and gingerbread.
Palate : Smooth and rich. Flavors of dates and gingerbread evolve into notes of praline and caramel. The oloroso finish brings hints of dried fruit and a slight astringency.
Overall : Medium to long, with notes of sweet spices, dried fruit and a light woody touch. A hint of alcoholic warmth lingers pleasantly.
