BATS is a beer with a rare profile, brewed with malts smoked with beechwood and peat and infused with smoked Chinese tea (Tarry Lapsang Suchong). Once poured, the amber-coloured beer, topped with a thick white head, reveals malty, spicy and finely smoked notes. Slightly tannic at first, the palate is balanced by subtle caramel notes. The evolution of the smoke is reminiscent of the asphalt that inspired the brewer's recipe when he visited a mine. The balance, aromatic persistence and complexity of this beer, right through to the finish, are perfectly mastered.
