The House of Bache-Gabrielsen is a family-owned cognac house founded in 1905, which promotes a transgenerational know-how, supported by an entire team. Originally designed for the Scandinavian markets, Bache-Gabrielsen cognacs have been attracting an increasingly international audience for several decades. The Bache-Gabrielsen cognac range offers an aromatic register between accuracy and balance with innovative and exceptional products such as the range of vintage cognacs. According to Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen, "this range highlights the years of ageing in barrels to demonstrate the real impact of oak on cognac".

1988 was a leap year that began on a Friday. The month of August that year was extremely painful for the cognac vineyards, as well as for modern art lovers
for modern art lovers and car enthusiasts. Because Jean-Michel Basquiat and Enzo Ferrari died that month and it only rained 7.8 mm in the Cognac region. Difficult conditions but promising for a quality vintage, as the vines dug deep into the soil to find nutrients and minerals to get through this dry period.
