ARDMORE 13 ans 2010 1st Fill Bourbon The Young Masters Editions Valinch & Mallet

This Ardmore distilled in 2010 aged 13 years in first-fill bourbon casks before being bottled at its natural strength of 53.50%. This Speyside single malt offers a silky and deep profile, with aromas of apple, vanilla and spices.

Ardmore is an ambiguous distillery. Located on the border between Speyside and the Eastern Highlands, Ardmore was established in 1897, just one year before the Pattison brothers went bankrupt. It has a character that, blindly, would make it more of an Island malt than a Mainland malt. It should be noted that between 1817 and 1835, another distillery bearing the same name operated on the island of Islay before being absorbed by Lagavulin. A heavy legacy to bear that can be found even in its DNA. Discovered through merchant bottling, Ardmore has in recent years had a 12-year-old "house" bottling.
