Gueuze is a blend of Lambic (Belgian spontaneous fermentation beers) aged in oak barrels for one, two and three years. It presents a nose characterized by barnyard and woody notes (leather, hay, wood, fennel) and youthful fruit aromas (green apple, verjus, rhubarb). The complexity of this lively and acidic beer grows until the finish, in which the vanilla, malty and spicy notes brought by its ageing in barrel prevail. As with most artisanal gueuzes, it is possible to let it age for some time in order to soften its acidity and fully express its fruity aromas.
