On the occasion of Nikka Whisky's 90th anniversary, Yoichi Single Malt is presented in a limited edition case. Yoichi is Nikka Whisky's first distillery, located on the coast of Hokkaido, Japan's northernmost island. Produced using traditional methods, such as direct toasting over coal fires, the malts perfectly reflect the authentic character of this exceptional place, with their marine and finely peaty notes. A blend of whiskies of different ages, it expresses a subtle balance between smoky, fruity and floral aromas.

Slightly Peated

Nose : It oscillates between candied lemon and exotic fruit. Superbly vanilla-flavoured, it gradually becomes spicy (cloves, pepper, nutmeg). Particularly fresh, it develops on notes of verbena and tarragon.

Palate : lively and powerful. It is racy and elegant. Vanilla and praline initially coat the palate. The mid-palate is dominated by citrus and ripe fruit (pear, plum). Liquorice adds an oily touch before honeysuckle, lily and cardamom make it heady.

Overall : long and rich. It is spicy. The influence of bourbon cask ageing is evident in the notes of vanilla and butterscotch. Fine notes of ash and smoke gradually emerge. The aftertaste is marked by sweet orange and mango.
