PROVIDENCE 2020 Habitation Velier

The Habitation Velier range showcases the excellence of Pure Single Rums, bottled in collaboration with the world’s best distillers. This range focuses exclusively on rums distilled 100% in Pot Still, highlighting the critical role of the distillation process in shaping a rum’s character. Whether white or aged, all the rums in the range correspond to a unique bottling, created by working hand in hand with selected partners. Each bottling reflects the distinct techniques, styles, and regional traditions of its distillery.

All expressions are bottled at high or full proof and additive-free. If aged, maturation takes place entirely at the distillery it was produced in. The didactic labels feature detailed technical information, including the angels’ share, stills used, congener levels and, where relevant, marks that distinguish various production styles. With more than 60 releases from 18 distilleries to date, the range offers an unparalleled educational insight into the diverse possibilities of pure pot still rums.

Following the initial release of a white rum distilled in 2021 at the Port-au-Prince distillery, Habitation Velier now introduces its first aged version of Providence. The particularity of this rum lies in its elaboration: it is produced from syrup and Cristalline cane juice. The sugar cane is grown in Saint-Michel-de-l’Attalaye. Fermentation is carried out using selected yeasts and dunder from previous distillations.
Distilled in 2020, this edition was exclusively aged in Caroni casks and boasts an ester content of 265 gr/hlPA. The angel’s share has exceeded 25%.
