This is a 21-year-old Orkney single malt, multi-vintage and produced in small batches, bottled at natural cask strength, with a beautiful, rich sherry wood influence.
It's a blend of equal parts Orkney malt from two different casks. On the one hand, a 2003 hogshead, and on the other, a first-fill 1999 ex-bodega sherry butt. The whisky from these two casks was combined and married in a second-fill sherry cask for at least six months, before being bottled at natural cask strength.
Decadent Drinks is an independent bottler of whisky and other spirits. Angus MacRaild - also author of the WhiskySponge blog - is the founder. His philosophy is quality, fun and not taking life too seriously. This quirky side is reflected both in his blog and on the labels of his bottlings, which feature the sponge character in a variety of ways.
These bottlings, mostly single casks, are divided into different brands such as the Spongeverse, Equinox & Solstice, Equilibrium and NAS. The Spongeverse includes WhiskySponge, RumSponge, CognacSponge, ArmagnacSponge and WineSponge.

Slightly Peated
Nose : Rich and opulent, with aromas of dried fruit, candied orange peel and a hint of dark chocolate, all enveloped in subtle peaty smoke.
Palate : Velvety and intense, revealing notes of raisins, heather honey and warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg.
Overall : Long and harmonious, marked by flavors of spicy oak, bitter cocoa and lingering sweet smoke.
