MORTLACH 20 ans Cowie's Blue Seal

Mortlach 20 year old Cowie's Blue Seal would have made the great Alexander Cowie proud. 1973. Near the distillery, a descendant of Alexander Cowie discovered a wooden box buried in the basement of the family home. Carefully packed were 12 bottles of a whisky whose existence had long been forgotten. It was Alexander Cowie's personal reserve. He had probably bottled the best his distillery had to offer, and adorned it with a blue seal, a colour that now adorns every bottle of Mortlach.
Mortlach 20 Year Old, Cowie's Blue Seal, is a tribute to Alexander Cowie's favourite whisky, the one he buried near the distillery. It is aged in whisky and ex-sherry casks and second fill casks, to tame "The Beast of Dufftown" and bring a gentle complexity to the single malt.
