Ledaig, the peaty version from the Tobermory distillery on Scotland's Isle of Mull, is renowned for its single malts with a distinctive smoky, peaty character. Founded in 1798, it has stood the test of time, producing powerful whiskies imbued with the region's maritime influences. The omnipresent peat lends Ledaig a complexity of flavors, from earthy, medicinal peat to more saline, maritime notes. Ledaig embodies the wild soul of the island, offering whisky lovers a unique sensory journey, between tradition and boldness.
Created in 1968 by the great whisky visionary, “Mr George” Urquhart, the “Connoisseurs Choice” range now includes over 2,000 bottlings from a hundred Scottish distilleries. The story behind each “Connoisseurs Choice” whisky is told on its label: cask type, bottling date, degree, vintage and tasting notes. Always unchill-filtered, these rare single casks and small-batch expressions have been created thanks to Gordon & MacPhail's unique expertise in marrying distillate and oak casks, passed down through four generations of the same family.
