ISLAY 38 ans 1985 WhiskyLand Chapter Six Flowermore Decadent Drinks

This “Flowermore Single Malt”, distilled in 1985, was aged for 38 years in bourbon casks before being bottled at its natural 44.6% strength. This single malt has a distinctive name, referring to the oldest distillery on the Isle of Islay, founded in 1779. It reflects a fine, exotic profile, with notes of mango, vanilla and subtle smoke.


Decadent Drinks is an independent bottler of whisky and other spirits. Angus MacRaild - also author of the WhiskySponge blog - is the founder. His philosophy is quality, fun and not taking life too seriously. This quirky side is reflected both in his blog and on the labels of his bottlings, which feature the sponge character in a variety of ways.
These bottlings, mostly single casks, are divided into different brands such as the Spongeverse, Equinox & Solstice, Equilibrium and NAS. The Spongeverse includes WhiskySponge, RumSponge, CognacSponge, ArmagnacSponge and WineSponge.
