Slightly Peated

Nose : fine, racy. Camphorated and ashy, the nose opens with scents of citrus zest, green walnut and tiger balm. A very pleasant salinity mingles with malty scents of great purity of expression.

Appearance : or vif.

Palate : lively, invigorating. Malty, the palate is dominated by fruit (pear, yellow melon, golden apple) and spices (star anise, clove). Mineral (slate), the mid-palate becomes increasingly liquorice and fermentative (malt beer).

Overall : long, uncluttered. Lactic (coconut), the start of the finish picks up on the iodized notes of the nose (samphire, seaweed). Then, new spices (cardamom, nutmeg), flavors of straw, squeezed lemon and wisps of smoke compete for intensity.
