Former market gardeners, Clémence and Thierry Ogez, the founders of Arhumatic, don't just select fruit, aromatic plants and spices of impeccable quality. They also pay particular attention to the choice of rums, whether pure cane juice or molasses, to transcend their original recipes. This limited edition is made from a white Hampden from the LFCH mark distilled in 2023, infused with star anise, star fruit, honey, cinnamon and bergamot syrup. While the powerful character of Hampden is immediately apparent on the nose, it is the fruit that gradually takes over the aromatic palette.

Nose : Ample, deep. An initial note of rubber adds the Hampden signature. Macerated fruit (cherry brandy) and star fruit also take centre stage. On aeration, the aromatic palette becomes exotic (mango) and spicy (nutmeg).

Appearance : Jaune doré

Palate : Fresh and suave. A veritable basket of fruit (pear, mirabelle plum), the palette of flavours is supported by notes of liquorice stick. Then, flavours of grated cinnamon spread across the taste buds, while cane honey takes us back to Hampden.

Overall : Long and luscious. Geranium flowers, bergamot and an infusion of thyme make for a particularly evocative start to the finish. The smooth finish invites us to savour a rum baba, aniseed and warm treacle honey.
