ABERLOUR 33 ans 1991 Whisky Sponge No.92 Decadent Drinks

Since 1879, Aberlour Single Malts have drawn their unique taste from the generous land of Aberlour, in the North of Scotland. It was on the green banks of the Lour and Spey rivers that James Fleming set up his distillery. Their pure water is one of the essential ingredients in Aberlour single malts. Also used in production, it is then naturally filtered on the distillery site and returned to nature to be purified. The barley is harvested within a 24 km radius of the distillery.

This Aberlour is a blend of two vintages purchased by Angus, a 1989 and a 1991. The former was richer and spicier, the latter sweeter, floral and fruitier. The result is a small-batch 33-year-old bottled at 49.70%.

Decadent Drinks is an independent bottler of whisky and other spirits. Angus MacRaild - also author of the WhiskySponge blog - is the founder. Its philosophy is quality, fun and not taking life too seriously. This quirky side is reflected both in his blog and on the labels of his bottlings, which feature the sponge character in a wide variety of ways.
These bottlings, mostly single casks, are divided into different brands such as the Spongeverse, Equinox & Solstice and Equilibrium. The Spongeverse includes WhiskySponge, RumSponge, CognacSponge, ArmagnacSponge and WineSponge.
