The Real McCoy® Rum is based on the story of Bill McCoy, the pioneer rum runner of the Prohibition era. He was the first to fill a boat with Caribbean rum, sail it up to New York and legally act as a floating liquor store, in international waters, three miles offshore. The Real McCoy range is produced in his honor with the same quality spirit, thanks to Master Distiller Richard Seale from Foursquare distillery. All rums are completely unadulterated, small batch distilled in a rare artisanal combination of copper pot & column stills and tropically aged in Barbados, in heavy charred American Oak Bourbon barrels.
Real McCoy 3 Years is a traditional rum originating from the Foursquare distillery in Barbados. It was aged for three years in American oak barrels, previously used for Bourbon, followed by charcoal filtration. This final step, carried out prior to bottling, eliminates the amber color, resulting in a clear appearance akin to unaged white rum. However, it still maintains the intricate aromas acquired during its three-year maturation in casks.
