TAG AT WHISKY LIVE 2023
Published on June 19, 2024
At the 19th edition of Europe's largest spirits fair, the TAG space was in the spotlight with a stronger presence than ever before. Under the banner of THE AVANT GARDISTS, visitors were invited to discover and taste the unique creations of its producers.
WHISKY IS THE LIMIT
As an independent bottler, Salim selects whisky casks from Scotland to bottle them under the Whisky Is The Limit brand once they are ready. His ambition: to break the mold. Innovate. Surprise. And do so by offering authentic yet atypical whiskies. Bold and free in his choices, while deeply respecting the spirits and artisans he has the honor of working with. Through these whiskies, he embodies this motto: Whisky Is The Limit.
FAVIGNANA
Favignana is a tiny island off the coast of Sicily. On its 19 km², you can find over 600 endemic plants. This unique terroir is what the creators of Isola di Favignana, present at the tradeshow, wanted to showcase. The "recipe" for their London Dry gin, a spirit proud of its Italian origins, brings together 12 aromatic plants, most of which are handpicked on the island of Favignana.
DELJOY
Since 1890, the family-owned Delpeuch-Joyeux house has been crafting cognacs in Mainxe-Gondeville, in the heart of Grande Champagne. Drawing on its roots and expertise passed down through five generations, Frédéric Delpeuch has created a unique citrus liqueur, enhanced by the renowned Charentais eau-de-vie.
MAISON HAMELLE
Since 2019, Maison Hamelle has been crafting artisanal spirits in the heart of Paris, using carefully selected macerations of plants, fruits, and spices. This ambitious project is the brainchild of Jérôme Hamelle, a great spirits enthusiast. Pastis, gins, liqueurs, and even aquavit: everything was available for tasting!
MAISON M
Lovers of the mountains, Roxane Mengoli and Philippe Bodon took on the challenge of creating an artisanal distillery in Valmorel, Savoie, using traditional manufacturing processes to craft modern spirits. Since then, as avid foragers, they have focused on enhancing the raw materials found in their valley. Apéritifs, eaux-de-vie, liqueurs, and gins: their collection of spirits is a concentrated essence of Savoyard nature.
LABALLE
Maison Laballe is the story that the Laudet family has been writing in Parlebosq, in the Landes region, since 1820. Driven by their love for the land, each generation has contributed their expertise, vision, and innovations. While Cyril Laudet enjoys shaking up the conventions of Armagnac, he is dedicated to capturing the unique character of the Sables Fauves, the exceptional land of Bas-Armagnac in the Landes.
BEAR BROTHERS
Bear Brothers is first and foremost the story of two brothers and their childhood friend, three enthusiasts of nature and gastronomy. Bear Brothers is also a range of premium spirits: a vodka, several gins, and soon, a whisky. To bring this collection to life, the trio founded the Distillerie des Pyrénées at the gates of Toulouse, and they were present at the salon to showcase their creations.
LA PIAUTRE
From beer to whisky, the founders of La Piautre crossed that line in 2013. Since then, at La Ménitré in Maine-et-Loire, La Piautre has brought together a malting house, smokehouse, brewery, and distillery all on one site. They were present to showcase their latest whiskies: single malt, peated or unpeated, rye whisky—something to suit every taste!
TASTINGS THE AVANT GARDISTS
The TAG team was also present at a tasting bar on the plateau, showcasing some true gems: Song Cha's tea spirit, Solignac's lemon & milk vodka, Machetazo's jalapeño-flavored mezcal, Malouin’s buckwheat gin... A treat for all the curious!
ON THE COCKTAIL STREET : TIGER BY TAG
In the early evening, visitors had the opportunity to enjoy TAG products in cocktail form at the TAG bar on Cocktail Street, in partnership with the Parisian gin bar Tiger. Portofino Dry Gin, Laballe Armagnac, and the non-alcoholic options from Everleaf were highlighted.
See you next year for a 20th edition that promises to be magnificent!
