Cask number TD0165 was distilled in November of 2006 and decanted in January of 2020 maturing at 13 years, 2 months, in a single 200-litre, first-fill American oak bourbon cask. This whisky is bottled at a strength of 47.5% abv.
Nose : This could be a Weiss Bar advert: Thick lactic goodness and mango. Coconut cream and a deep malty funk. Lolls about the nose in a wonderfully broad way- not even a hint of a sharp edge. Waxy rose and geranium, with spearmint. Toffee apples, baked peach, marshmallows, maraschino cherries, maple syrup and ripe boysenberries.
Palate : Excellent journey throughout the palate, thick velvet in texture. Dried apricot, canned peaches, mandarin peel. A lovely bright herbal note sites nicely on a bed of deep spices and vanilla bean. Glazed filo pastry, and lots of bakery vibes. And most of all, pecan pie!
Overall : Light custard, and a big burst of Arnott's Orange Cream biscuits. Passion fruit, kiwi, quite peachy#P,& the banana smoothie syrup that you get in take away joints. Really vibrant fruit. Maple syrup, and boiled lollies. A lovely slightly salty, artichoke brine flavour (or is it texture...?).
