SAINT ARMAND VERT Fir buds from Haut-Doubs rested in a cask
Distillation of fir buds harvested by hand in the Haut-Doubs region and dried in the attics of the Distillerie Guy, aged in a hundred-year-old cask.
Created by Armand Guy in 1909, this speciality from the Doubs (25) in the Jura Massif is enhanced by about fifteen other secret plants. All the aromas and colours come from plants alone. Its brief passage in hundred-year-old casks, as Armand Guy did in his time, rounds out the herbaceous aromas of the fir buds.
Saint Armand is drunk dry, as an aperitif or as a digestif, most often served frosted or on crushed ice.
But it is also very much appreciated in grog for its anti-cough properties, in a shot at the bottom of a pint of beer, to enhance its Pontarlier-Anis (a fir-tree parrot), in cooking or in cocktails for a touch of herbaceous vivacity.
