PORT ELLEN 22 ans 1979 1st Release Limited Edition

Launched at the end of 2001, the first official edition of Port Ellen since the Rares Malts series began a countdown that has since seen 11 bottlings. Up until the 8th edition, the 1978 and 1979 vintages were interchanged from one year to the next. Since the 9th edition, the 1979 vintage has taken pride of place. All these editions were limited to around 6,000 bottles worldwide (except Edition 2 - 12,000 bottles, and Edition 3 - 9,000 bottles). Now a collector's item, this first edition is marked by notes of apple, light smoke, liquorice and oak.
