In the 1990s, Alexandre Gabriel scoured the Caribbean in search of exceptional rums and launched the Plantation range, renamed Planteray in 2024.

Distilled in Barbados, this version was aged for eleven years in bourbon casks in a tropical climate, then refined in cognac casks for nine years in the cellars of Maison Ferrand. It has an ester content of 229 grams per hectoliter of pure alcohol.

Exuberant and original, its aromatic and gustatory palette is a succession of strata superimposed on one another in a seamless fashion. At the top of this edifice are the absolutely sublime fragrances and flavors of tonka bean.

Nose : rich, unctuous. At once apricot, powdery (rice), caramelized and spicy (ginger), the aromatic palette is gradually enveloped by heady scents of geranium flower and tonka bean. This olfactory ensemble is in turn enveloped by scents of lily and essential oils (lavender, violet).

Appearance : or soutenu.

Palate : ample, gourmand. With the same fruity, floral structure as the nose, the palette is also marked by flavors of precious woods, candied ginger and chocolate. Exotic (mango, guava), it gradually becomes rooty (ginseng) and oriental (wilted rose).

Overall : long, silky. Continuing on the palate, a delicious mango coulis completely coats the taste buds. Then Tonka beans make their exquisite comeback. Finally, cinnamon, a hint of nutmeg and grated ginger add spice to a finely tannic retro olfaction.
