Founded in Lyon in 1997, Ninkasi is named after the goddess of beer in Sumerian mythology. Specializing initially in brewing, it launched its first single malt in 2018 and now creates bottlings matured primarily in wine and cognac casks that showcase France’s traditional expertise in winegrowing.
In this giftpack, Ninkasi brings us a single malt matured in an ex-Côte de Nuit red wine barrel and finished in an ex-white Pineau Des Charentes cask and a Grape Ale also aged in the same Côte de Nuit cask after the whisky was removed.
An opportunity to explore the links between malt and grape, this giftpack can be used to taste both products either in separate glasses or in a traditional Irish boilermaker, where beer and whisky are served together in the same glass.
